Jannie
Meet Jannie
Jannie is a beautiful bay mare with quite simply the sweetest nature. Jannie has an extremely endearing temperament, and it would be hard not to love her as soon as you meet her. She adores attention from people, always brilliant to catch and will stand like a rock to be groomed and pampered. Jannie is enjoying her golden years and very much appreciates all the fussing over her when she’s brought in. She likes to do some dramatic snorts on the way in from the field but apart from that is great to handle in all ways. Although Jannie is bigger than a lot of her field mates, she is not a dominant mare in the slightest and has a habit of being pushed about so would be happiest in a home with other laid back sweet natured horses as she doesn’t like to get involved in any of her field mates' squabbles. Jannie really deserves a home where she will receive lots of love and attention after coming in as a welfare concern. She is an older lady and would benefit from good grazing so would be suited to living with larger horses to maintain her condition; but like every horse will need her weight regularly monitored. She is happiest when living out full time as she can become stressed when stabled. Jannie does however like her home comforts and is very fond of her field shelter; it is rare to go down to her field and not find her happily snoozing in her house. She is well mannered on vet and farrier days and would make a lovely addition to someone's family. If you think Jannie sounds right for you, please apply online.
Important stuff
Jannie can never be ridden or driven.
All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Jannie is not suitable to be worked.
History
Jannie came into World Horse Welfare care with a group of horses in April 2024 as a welfare concern. The group were living in stables in very unsuitable conditions and were underweight on arrival.
