Pierre
Meet Pierre
Pierre is a sweet little chap who is always happy to see you. Pierre doesn’t have a bad bone in his body and is always so willing to please; he loves nothing more than getting hugs or scratches from his groom. He is very sweet and affectionate and will make a lovely, easy-going companion. Due to Pierre's conformation he cannot be ridden. Pierre was gelded later in life so is unsuitable to live with mares although he is quite a submissive pony that doesn’t like to cause too much trouble. He can be playful in the field and always seems to get along with any horse he is with. Pierre is a good boy for the vet and farrier and is generally very polite and sensible for all his handling. Due to his past, however, he can be a little worried in new situations or be a bit spooky but with some gentle reassurance from his handler he is then fine, he is a very trusting little pony. He will need a home where his weight will be monitored and grazing restricted throughout the summer so would be best suited to other good doers. Pierre would be more than happy to go for short in hand walks in his new home as he is quite inquisitive and nosey; this would also help to keep his weight down. If you think Pierre sounds like the right match for your ponies, please apply online.
Important stuff
Pierre can never be ridden or driven.
All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Pierre is not suitable to be worked.
History
Pierre came in with a large group of ponies in April 2023 as a welfare case. He was nervous and entire on arrival at Belwade Farm.
