Are you or someone you know in a difficult situation which is affecting a horse’s care? We may be able to offer some guidance and support.

Are you or someone you know in a difficult situation which is affecting a horse’s care? We may be able to offer some guidance and support.

**Please note: our head office is closed from 5pm Friday 20th December until 8:30am Thursday 2nd January. If you’re concerned about an emergency during that time which can’t wait until the next working day, please contact the police or a vet for advice. You can find details of a local vet through the RCVS Find a Vet page.

If your concern relates to a non-emergency situation, you can contact us using the relevant form in the page links below at any time and our team will review the information you have provided when the office reopens.**

Keeping horses can be challenging at any time, and especially if your situation is complicated by ill health or a change in your personal circumstances. Sometimes just a few small alterations to how you keep your horse can make things far more manageable.

Whose horses need help?

If you, or the person you’re concerned about, needs help for an urgent human health issue, please call 111 or 999 depending on the severity of the situation.

Alternatively, contact your GP to find out what additional support is available. Our Resources Hub also has links to human health organisations that are experienced in supporting people going through challenging times.

Please note that if you want to report a welfare concern rather than request horse-related support (either for yourself or someone else), you can do that via the form on our Worried about a horse? page.

If you or someone you know needs a bit of support – or just advice on a simple horse care query – please don’t hesitate to get in touch by choosing one of the options below and our team will be very happy to help. Please note this service is only available in Britain.
