Doris
Meet Doris
Doris is ready to rehome as a youngster/companion. Doris arrived completely unhandled and it has taken a while for her to gain confidence when being handled. She is a lovely little pony but is still wary in new situations and thrives in a routine. We are looking for a home where she will be around and handled by adults only and a quieter yard would suit her best. Once she has got to know her handler she is good to catch, handle and groom but we expect it may take her a little time to settle into somewhere new. She is good with the vet and farrier but does need a calm and quiet approach. Doris gets on well with others and is currently living out within a group of mares but will also mix with geldings. She is also happy to be stabled if this is needed in the future for weight management. As she gets older she will need her weight monitoring and so would be best suited to a home with equines of similar needs. If you can offer Doris a home please apply online.
Important stuff
Doris can never be ridden or driven.
All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Doris is not suitable to be worked.
History
Doris came into Penny Farm as part of a large welfare case of unhandled ponies.
