Meet Martini

Martini is a feisty little character with a mind of her own. She is a good looking lady and very much aware of this fact as she can be a bit of a Diva at times. Martini is quite dominant by nature and she does like to be in charge and will throw her weight around in the herd, although she is much better in a one to one situation where she has nothing to prove. On the plus side Martini loves people and enjoys attention and being groomed. She would need to be carefully supervised with children around and is not suited to very young ones. Despite her bossy side, Martini is actually generally good to handle providing she is in a regular routine with consistent boundaries. Like most Shetlands Martini must have her weight carefully managed to avoid any health problems.

Important stuff

Martini can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Martini is not suitable to be worked.

History

Martini formed part of a large welfare case involving 35 equines. 29 were signed over to the care of World Horse Welfare. She was recently returned from loan through no fault of her own.
