Competition Ts and Cs

Competitions (including Free Prize Draws) are open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 or over, except employees of World Horse Welfare and their close relatives, and anyone otherwise connected with the organisation or judging of the competition.

By entering this competition an entrant is indicating their agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions. The closing date for entries will always be displayed. After this date no further entries to the competition will be permitted. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.

Competition prizes cannot be refunded or exchanged for a cash alternative.

By entering the Competition or Free Prize Draw, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions (these “Terms and Conditions”). Promotional materials relating to the Competition or Free Prize Draw, including all information on how to enter, also form part of these Terms and Conditions. In the event of any conflict between any terms referred to in such promotion materials and these Terms and Conditions, these Terms and Conditions take precedence.

The promoter of the Competition or Free Prize Draw is World Horse Welfare, Anne Colvin House, Snetterton, Norwich, NR16 2LR.

Use of script, macro or any automated system to enter the Competition or Free Prize Draw is prohibited and entries made (or which appear to have been made) using any such system may be treated as void. Any illegible, incomplete or fraudulent entries will be rejected.

The prize is as stated on any promotional material and is non-exchangeable and non-transferable. There is no cash or other alternative to the prize in whole or in part. By participating in the Competition or Free Prize Draw, participants agree that the prize is awarded on an “as is” basis, and that neither World Horse Welfare nor any of its subsidiary or affiliated companies, make any representations or warranties of any nature with respect to the prize.

The winner of the Competition or Free Prize Draw will be the first name chosen at random from all complete, eligible, properly submitted entries received before the end of the applicable closing date.

The winner will be notified by a means promoted on the relevant digital and / or print literature. The winner may be required to submit valid identification before receiving the Prize. The winner will be provided with instructions on how the Prize can be claimed. If the winner has not claimed their prize by the date specified in the notification of winning, World Horse Welfare reserves the right to conduct a further random draw to award the prize to another participant.

In the event that, for reasons beyond World Horse Welfare’s reasonable control and not related to the winner, World Horse Welfare is unable to award the prize as described in these Terms and Conditions, World Horse Welfare reserves the right to award a prize of a similar nature and an equivalent value. In the event of a printing or other error resulting in there being more winners than prizes for the Competition or Free Prize Draw, World Horse Welfare reserves the right at any time to allocate the available prize through a further draw or to divide the prize or the value of the prize between the winners of the Competition or Free Prize Draw.

By entering the Competition or Free Prize Draw, participants agree to have their name and photograph featured in publicity materials as necessary to identify winners and comply with regulations regarding Competitions / Free Prize Draws. This includes making their name as the winner available. Winners may be required to provide tax information to any third-party Sponsor of the Competition or Free Prize Draw.

Although the Competition or Free Prize Draw may be featured on social media channels, Competitions or Free Prize Draws operated by World Horse Welfare are in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with any social media platforms and all entrants agree that they are not liable in any way. Entrants are providing information to World Horse Welfare and not to any social media platforms. The information provided will only be used for the purposes referred to in the clause below.

World Horse Welfare will collect and process participants’ personal information and it will be shared with World Horse Welfare’s agents and affiliates (including those outside the European Economic Area) to the extent necessary in order to conduct the Competition or Free Prize Draw including for the prize to be delivered to the winner. If participants do not provide any of the mandatory information requested when entering and taking part in the Competition or Free Prize Draw, they may not take part. Participants’ names and other personal details from their entry to the Competition or Free Prize Draw will be collected and stored by World Horse Welfare and its affiliates in accordance with current GDPR (UK) regulations.

World Horse Welfare reserves the right to modify, cancel, terminate or suspend the Competition or Free Prize Draw in whole or in part, at its sole discretion, if it believes it is not capable of being conducted as specified within these Terms and Conditions or in the event of a virus, a computer bug or unauthorized human intervention or any other cause that is beyond the reasonable control of World Horse Welfare that could corrupt or affect the administration, security, impartiality or normal course of the Competition or Free Prize Draw. Neither World Horse Welfare nor any of its subsidiary or affiliated companies are responsible for any condition, circumstances, losses, failures or delays caused by events beyond its or their control such as (but not limited to) the acts or defaults of any supplier selected by World Horse Welfare to provide the prize or otherwise that may cause the Competition or Free Prize Draw to be disrupted or corrupted, or that may lead to loss or damage of the prize in transit to the winner.

World Horse Welfare will not be responsible for any damage, loss or injury resulting from participants’ entry into the Competition or Free Prize Draw or their acceptance and/or use of the prize, or for technical, hardware or software failures, lost, faulty or unavailable network connections or difficulties of any kind that may limit or prohibit their ability to participate in the Competition or Free Prize Draw. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall in any way limit World Horse Welfare’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence or for any other matter where liability may not as a matter of law be limited.

Please be aware of spam/fake accounts on social media channels, who may impersonate World Horse Welfare. World Horse Welfare will not message any of the participants privately to ask for bank details or to fill in a form. World Horse Welfare will not be responsible for any participants condition, circumstances, losses, failures or delays caused by such accounts.

Any participant who enters or attempts to enter the Competition or Free Prize Draw in a manner, which in World Horse Welfare’s reasonable determination is contrary to these Terms and Conditions or by its nature is unjust to other entrants (including without limitation tampering with the operation of the Competition or Free Prize Draw, cheating, hacking, deception or any other unfair playing practices such as intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other entrants or World Horse Welfare’s and/or any of its agents or representatives) may be rejected from the Competition or Free Prize Draw at World Horse Welfare’s sole discretion. Furthermore, where such actions have significantly impaired the Competition or Free Prize Draw, World Horse Welfare may, at its sole discretion, add further stages to the Competition or Free Prize Draw as it deems reasonably necessary in order to resolve any problems arising as a result of such actions.

All World Horse Welfare’s decisions in relation to Competitions or Free Prize Draws are final and World Horse Welfare will not enter into any correspondence with participants.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by English law. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to hear any dispute or claim arising in association with the Competition or Free Prize Draw or these Terms and Conditions.
