In 2019, World Horse Welfare in partnership with The Horse Trust took over the coordination of Advancing Equine Scientific Excellence (AESE) from the British Equestrian Federation (BEF). The initiative was first launched in 2011 and aims to advance equine scientific excellence through improved collaboration between the equine industry, research institutes, colleges and universities.

AESE actively engages with equine institutions and industry, to promote the importance and value of robust research on topics identified by the sector.
