Racecourse fun runs
You may never ride a winner, but you can still run like one!
You may never ride a winner, but you can still run like one!
Have you ever dreamt of racing at one of the world’s most famous racecourses? Unfortunately, we can’t promise you can ride a champion racehorse, but we can offer the opportunity to run the course yourself.
We are delighted to be able to give you the chance to take part in a charity run at one of the country’s most iconic racecourses. This is a unique opportunity to take part in a 5k run at Aintree Racecourse, home of the Grand National.
Each mile will be marked out and there are plenty of helpers around the course to keep you on track and encourage you on your way to the finish line.
We also offer the chance to run at a range of racecourses in our regional races section. There is a choice of 5k, 10k and half marathon distances, with dates updated throughout the year. Find out more here.
Why raise funds for World Horse Welfare?
If you choose to raise funds for World Horse Welfare, you’ll be helping horses to live better lives around the world. As an international equine welfare charity, we strive to improve the horse-human relationship in all of its guises. We help horses in need, horses in sport and leisure, and horses used in work and production. By working with owners, communities, organisations, institutions and governments, we have a track record of improving welfare standards and stamping out suffering in the UK and worldwide through hands-on care, research, education and influence.
We run the UK’s largest equine rescue and rehoming scheme and, on average, we take in more than 300 horses and ponies each year and aim to find them loving new homes after their expert rehabilitation. We also help to improve the lives of tens of thousands of working horses, mules, and donkeys – and the families who rely on them for their livelihoods – through our international programmes which work with local partner organisations and horse owning communities in 17 countries in Africa, Latin America, and Asia.
By fundraising for us, you’ll be helping horses who need it most in the UK or further afield. Thank you so much for considering supporting this vital work.
