Meet Chere

Chere is a lovely mare who is looking for a home as a non-ridden companion. She originally came to us along with 4 other horses, after we were contacted for help through our Owner Support scheme. When Chere arrived, she was rather unsettled and did not like it if she was taken away from her friends, so would not always catch for her groom. Now a lot more settled she will happily come in for a pamper and some cuddles, and only occasionally need the temptations of a sweet treat to catch. She is good for our farrier but can be slightly wary of the vet, due to this and the fact she can be a little unsettled in new environments, she will need a competent handler. Chere can gain weight easily, so will be looking for new friends who are also on restricted grazing. If you think that you can offer the lovely Chere a new home, please apply online.
Important stuff
Chere can never be ridden or driven.
All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Chere is not suitable to be worked.
History
Chere came into our care in 2024 after her owner contacted us to ask for help.
