Meet Magpie

Magpie is ready to find a home as a non ridden companion. He came into us a little nervous and with quite bad sweet itch. This has now completely healed and he just requires a sweet itch rug in the spring/summer months. He is a lovely, friendly little pony, with quite a bold character, so will need an experienced home with a confident handler. He is never nasty, but he is very much a 'give an inch, take a mile' type of pony. He gets on very well with others and is currently living out with a group of geldings although he has lived with a mare before. He will happily come into a stable to be groomed and fussed over and is good to catch and handle. He is also a good boy for the vet and farrier. Magpie doesn't like being left on his own so it is important he has the company of another equine at all times. He may need his grazing restricted in the spring/summer months. If you can offer Magpie a home, please apply online.

Important stuff

Magpie can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Magpie is not suitable to be worked.

History

Magpie came into Penny Farm with two other horses after their owner could no longer care for them.
