Meet Midnight

Applications closed
Despite having very little handling in the past Midnight has such a willing little character. She is embracing new experiences remarkably well and really is the sweetest of souls. Although she is learning to put her trust in humans she can still have a tendency to be afraid of loud noises or abrupt movements. With this in mind she will require an experienced handler to help her continue to build her confidence. Midnight keeps herself to herself in the herd and doesn't get involved in any conflict with others. Midnight will make a lovely field companion or, with more life experience, she could have the potential to be backed to ride in the future, if her rehomer has experience of this. If ridden Midnight will have a maximum rider weight limit of 7.5 to 8 stones so will suit a small adult or experienced teenager. She will not be suitable yet as a first pony.
Important stuff
Midnight could be worked in the future.
History
Midnight came into our care as part of a herd of 13 neglected horses, known as the 'Harefield Horses', who were rescued by World Horse Welfare with the help of local authorities and other welfare charities. Midnight was suffering so badly she had to be admitted to the Royal Veterinary College for treatment. She was infested with encysted red worm, very underweight and lethargic. You can find out more about their story through the video at the bottom of this page.
