Meet Theon

Theon is such a handsome boy and is ready to find his perfect new home as a companion. Theon adores attention and loves being around people. He was brought into work at Belwade Farm but due to lameness issues he unfortunately did not remain comfortable in ridden work. He is so lovely to spend time with and really is such a cuddly horse. Theon is a real character and is always playing when out in the field. He was gelded later in life so is unsuitable to live with mares. He has lived over the fence from mares but becomes quite protective so is better suited to a gelding only home. Theon is perfect to handle and will happily stand for hours to be groomed. He is happiest when a fuss is being made of him so would suit a home where he receives regular pampering as he loves to be the centre of attention. Theon would not be suitable to live with elderly horses as he is very boisterous and enjoys playing. He is brilliant for the vet, farrier and dentist but will need to see a dentist every 6 months for his teeth. Theon does not need his grazing overly restricted so would be the perfect companion to larger horses. He is more than happy to live out full time but will need a turnout rug over the winter to maintain his condition. During the summer he will need to wear a fly rug as his skin can be quite sensitive. He is one of the friendliest horses we have on the farm and always comes to call in the field. We would love to find him the perfect new home where he will be spoilt rotten. Important stuff

Theon can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Theon is not suitable to be worked.

History

Theon came into World Horse Welfare care in August 2017 with seven other horses as part of a welfare case.
