If you are going to this year’s Badminton Horse Trials on 4-8 May, there’s plenty of World Horse Welfare related things to do. Olympic medallist Pippa Funnell will be signing her new children’s books at our stand, you can meet one of our rehomed ponies for real, see our sponsored jump, vote in the rehomed horse competition, win in the raffle and even take a selfie in a giant deck chair on our stand!
Out on the world-famous cross-country course, we are sponsoring one of the jumps, The Jetty (No 20), and will also have one of our rehomed ponies in a pen near the lake available for people to meet and find out more about the rehoming process.
To tie-in with Badminton Horse Trials eventer Pippa Funnell, three times Olympic Medallist and World Horse Welfare Patron, will be launching the first three books in her series of heart-warming pony tales Magic Spirit: The Dream Horse; Red Admiral: The Racehorse and Rosie: The Perfect Pony. Pippa will be signing her books on the World Horse Welfare stand on the Saturday and Monday of the event and signed copies will be available to buy throughout the weekend.
“I’m so delighted to be introducing completely updated editions of my Pony Tales series about Tilly Redbrow and her beloved horse, Magic Spirit, to a new generation of readers. The advice that Tilly is given is what I would teach from my past experiences and I hope it is useful for every aspiring rider, just as much as I hope they will enjoy reading my stories and always follow their dreams.”

Pippa’s Pony Tales, published by Zephyr, is a series of 18 uplifting stories about Tilly Redbrow, who lives, breathes and dreams horses. At pocket money price, these inspiring tales are perfect for pony loving children everywhere and the advice Tilly is given is exactly the advice that Pippa herself would give. Pippa’s Pony Tales series is aimed at all pony lovers aged 8+ and they are beautifully illustrated with artwork by Jennifer Miles.
At World Horse Welfare’s stand, at 86 Beaufort Way in the Badminton Horse Trials shopping village, you can meet the team and vote for your favourite pony in the Rehomed Horse competition. On the stand will be the biggest deck chair you’ve ever seen, and selfies are the order of the day or why not take part in the spring raffle and stand the chance of winning £4,000?
